This was a 16-bit minicomputer from Panafacom (currently PFU). It was the first LSI minicomputer produced domestically in Japan, and was announced in June 1975. Initially, it was equipped with two nMOS LSI, and thus was able to reduce system size to 1/5th by integrating circuits previously comprised of 5 large printed circuit boards into one printed circuit board. Later, the entire CPU was converted to LSI using 4 nMOS LSI chips, thus halving the size of the large printed circuit boards, reducing cost and improving reliability (see PANAFACOM U-100 Series Specifications).
