Sord (today, the Toshiba Personal Computer System Corporation) announced the M100 home computer series as its first consumer models in 1978.

Sord announced the M100ACE personal computer series, which added a floppy drive to the M100 series, the following year in 1979. Priced at \370,000, the M100ACE III aimed to penetrate the personal user market.
