The if800 Model 10 and Model 20 personal computers, announced in May 1980, were developed not for the hobby market, but as true business personal computers.
The Model 10 came with a printer as standard equipment, and the Model 20 was the all-in-one type with a flexible disk unit, display, keyboard and printer. The Model 20, in particular, was viewed highly by the market as the model which pioneered the business personal computer market in Japan.
The Model 30 was marketed in 1981 as a high-end model. It was equipped with features such as Chinese character (kanji) processing capability, graphics capabilities, a Chinese character printer, and a 2 megabyte flexible disk unit.
The Model 60 was introduced as the top-end model of the if800 Series in January 1985. The Model 60 was a 16-bit machine and Super View was incorporated into the OS as multi-window software, so multiple screens could be shown on the display. Data could also be shared and used between applications, and the system was also equipped with communication software to turn the machine into a CAPTAIN (Character and Pattern Telephone Access) terminal.
