The DIPS-0 BASIC system was the first prototype system of the DIPS series by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation (now called Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation). It incorporated interactive processing functions, which were not offered by the original HITAC 8400 system. The system was introduced to the laboratory as a shared-use information processing system for Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation.
