The lineup of the HITAC L-30, 50, 70/5 Series was introduced in 1985 as the series of successor products to the L-30, 50, 70 Series.
The L-70 System was expanded into 4 models (the L-70/15, 25, 45 and 55) to be responsive to a wider range of needs. In moving from the L-70/20 to the top-end L-70/55, the maximum memory size was expanded from 2 megabytes to 16 megabytes, maximum file capacity from 560 megabytes to 2 gigabytes, and the maximum number of workstations from 15 to 30.
The L-30/15 was the successor of the L-30/10. The L-50/15 and 25 were successors, respectively of the L-50/20 and 25.
