This machine used newly developed dedicated LSI to provide the industry's first super outline fonts, for beautiful smooth printing of everything from small characters for name cards to enlarged letters. Characters were formed with curve data, so quality was improved compared to outline fonts using line (vector) data, and it was possible to freely set a total of 67 types of multi-point characters in a range from 4.5-288 point. The system used a 64-dot 400dpi high-resolution printer, and (in combination with super outline fonts) enabled surprisingly beautiful character printing.
