FMV-BIBLO LIFEBOOK was Fujitsu’s brand name for its business notebook series that it first launched in October 1998. Users could order any model custom built to their specifications.
Previously, Fujitsu had marketed both consumer notebooks and business notebooks under the FMV-BIBLO brand, which was launched in February 1995. But the company rebranded its business notebooks in the Japanese market with the LIFEBOOK name that it was already using as a notebook brand in Europe and North America. Later, with its April 2001 model release, Fujitsu started using FMV- LIFEBOOK, dropping the BIBLO name altogether.
Initially, four series were announced: the NA series of high-end models, the NU series of cost-competitive models, the NS series of slim-profile models, and the MC series of A5 models. Beyond this initial announcement, the LIFEBOOK series continued to be upgraded and new models introduced, and it is still one of Fujitsu’s computer lines today (2008).
