This was the mid-range computer in Fujitsu's Large FACOM M-100 Series. Announced in September 1975, the FACOM M-180II was a large computer developed to strengthen the product line in the Large FACOM M-100 Series. It achieved superior cost-performance by using the same architecture as the FACOM M-190 ultra-large computer, improving multiprocessor efficiency, and using integrated channels (channels with built-in controllers (see Specifications of the Large FACOM M-100).
