The printers in the Tables below were Hitachi's line of printers for the Hitachi Personal Workstation 2020, and the Hitachi Creative Workstation 2050.
Dot impact printers could print Japanese language documents created with the document processing functions of the 2020/2050 Workstations. They could not print images.
The HT-4372 printer used a horizontal inserter system and had independent mechanisms for feeding continuous and cut paper. Its distinguishing feature was the ability to automatically switch between continuous and cut paper based on commands from a host computer.
The page printers used electrophotography—a technique where output is written with a laser beam—and this enabled high-speed, sharp output of documents containing images.
