In 1961, Hitachi, Ltd. was developing computer systems through technical tie-ups with the RCA Corporation and Anelex Corporation (U.S.) In accordance with this, Hitachi Koki took charge of printer fabrication, began production using the knock-down system and parts from the Anelex Corporation, and later successfully achieved domestic production by in-house manufacturing of type drums and hammer modules.
At the time the H-333 and H-335 line printers were the world's fastest line printers of the drum type.
These printers were connected to the HITAC3010/4010/5020 processing units, and enabled printing of large volumes of calculation results at high speed.
Both of these line printers were equipped with a buffer, and could print in parallel with the operation of the processing unit.
