As computers became more miniaturized, size and weight were greatly reduced by using a free-flying hammer, type band and a buffer with semiconductor memory.
The A241 was the first type-band printer from Hitachi. It was developed through technical collaboration with the Nortech Corporation (U.S.), and connected to the HITAC8150.
