The OKITAC-5099(T2) was completed in May 1961 as a magnetic tape unit to connect with the OKITAC5090C and D Series.
The 5099T3 and T4, which were developed in 1962 for the OKITAC5090M, were completed with specifications compatible with IBM magnetic tape. A max.imum of 4 magnetic tape channels could be connected to a 5090M, and a max.imum of 10 magnetic tape units could be connected to each channel. Each data channel could operate independently, and thus it was possible to conduct reading and writing simultaneously.
